I would like to start this blog by saying that I know there are lot of social workers who feel like they don’t want to use AI because of ethical concerns related with harming the environment, or not being HIPPAA compliant, and how AI stores our data and might sell it, or some might think it makes you lazy. I hear all of your concerns.
However, AI can be used to help you learn how to write notes in more professional way. English is second language to me. So, I always worry that my notes are not clinical. So, I have prompts that I use AI to help me write notes without giving client’s information or even their health information. And I feel like I can give so much time to my clients and clinical work and less time on writing notes.
If you want to use AI, you just have to learn to change the way you tell it to do things so that it can give you what you want. Some important things to consider are 1. Check what it wrote. 2. No PII 3. No PHI
I am lucky to be working at a place where we have AI that listens and helps us write our notes and AI is built in our Electronic Health record system. But I am pretty sure you can use different platforms that can help you write your notes.
Please also be aware that if you want to make the infographics (the last prompt), you will need AI that can make image generation, editing, and enhancement. Not all AI can do that.
