Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Summary of 4 core skills of DBT: Interpersonal Effectiveness, Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance with key points and techniques for each skill

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

I would really recommend taking this training if you get an opportunity. If I were you, I would probably get training directly from the creator of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)- Marsha M. Linehan. I heard she has a way of teaching you in such a way that you learn “salesperson skills” so that you can motivate your patient to try these techniques and improve their lives.

Even though it consists of group skills training, individual psychotherapy, telephone consultation, and consultation for the therapist,  and is specifically designed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder, it has tons of stuff that you can use for different diagnoses and even for individual treatment.

Assumptions of Dialectical Behavior Therapy DBT

Assumptions of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

For some reason, I love these assumptions of Dialectical Behavior Therapy DBT, It helps me stay motivated so that I can continue to have faith and also have faith in my patients.  In terms of teaching skills, I end up mostly practicing mindfulness in the sessions and going over emotion regulation skills several times. If you want to learn more about mindfulness and emotion regulation- I wrote about it which I am hoping will help you all.
