TELETHERAPY

TELETHERAPY

  1. TELEHEALTH: I want to start this topic by saying “YOU GOT THIS”. Telehealth Counseling is definitely a challenge. However, we can definitely role model patience, self-care, and flexibility, which is going to be beneficial not only for our patients but also for ourselves.
  2. USING POWERPOINT:  Oh man, I thought I was going to lose my mind when I realized that I could not use my notebook because of telehealth. However, I started using PowerPoint instead of a notebook. And it became the best thing ever. You will need a platform where you can share the screen and definitely a computer that has good security and confidentiality programs attached to it. This idea, I am telling you, will keep kids, teenagers, and everyone busy. They love finding pictures from google that they can add to their PowerPoint. And you can also use this to write your notes. I do not own the trademark for Pikachu. This image is only being used for instruction purposes.
  3. FACEBOOK GROUPS: Tele-play therapy Toolbox- telehealth support for play therapist: Dan Pierce created this group which also has a website www.joinmentallyfit.com. I love reading the questions, comments, ideas, and suggestions. It helps me get a sense of comradery and support from people who are in the same situation (imposter syndrome, not good enough, or have any doubts). The sharing of resources is endless on this one. https://www.facebook.com/groups/166404981144252
  4. FACEBOOK GROUPS: Therapist toolbox- Resources and support for therapists: This one also was created by Dan. I love all the pdfs that therapists have created and shared in this Facebook group. There are probably like 100 plus pdfs people have uploaded since September 2019. https://www.facebook.com/groups/mftoolbox/files PDFs you can find in the Facebook group- Therapist Toolbox- resources and support for therapists
